Experienced Estimator Location: Cambridgeshire Salary: Up to £85,000 + benefits package What we’re looking for: Ambitious, self‑motivated, and proactive, with the ability to work independently or within a collaborative team. Strong communication skills (verbal and written) and a clean driving licence. Highly organised, conscientious, and focused on achieving targets and meeting deadlines. Experience in commercial, MOD, education, or healthcare projects is ideal, along with familiarity with different procurement routes (D&B, Traditional, 2‑Stage) and projects ranging £2m‑£30m, but training will be provided. Key Responsibilities: Producing cost plans from early RIBA stages to fully measured & rated BQs. Taking off quantities from drawings and producing detailed cost plans. Leading tender enquiries, subcontractor comparisons, and identifying scope gaps. Engaging with supply chain for value engineering options. Pricing site preliminaries, variations, and groundworks (Labour, Plant, Materials). Conducting site visits and presenting tender information to project teams. Using benchmarking and inflation forecasting tools to inform pricing. Liaising with buying departments for material quotations and managing risk/opportunity registers. Skills & Experience: Strong numeracy and commercial awareness. Excellent organisation, time management, and teamwork skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with Causeway or other estimating software is desirable. Clear and professional communication with clients and colleagues.
