As Visitor Experience Officer, your main focus will be on providing a great service for visitors. You'll be engaging diverse audiences and inspiring them to really get to know Lyveden. This might include devising and running events and activities, and creating interpretive displays and other ways of bringing the place, and its stories, to life for everyone who comes here. You'll encourage visitors to take a closer look at landscapes and architecture cared for by the Trust. Your role will lead on programmes and some events for visitors, including school holidays, Christmas and new exhibitions or workshops. You will also assist with property marketing, including social media and on-site marketing materials. As part of the wider team, you will contribute to operational delivery with weekend working, team support and acting as part of the Duty Management team. You will be supervising and supporting volunteers and organising rotas, checking standards of presentation on site, and upholding the values of the National Trust. Responsibilities Plan and run visitor events, programmes and exhibitions including school holidays, Christmas events and new workshops. Develop and deliver interpretive displays and other interpretive material that bring the place and its stories to life. Assist with property marketing, social media and on-site marketing materials. Support operational delivery, including weekend working, team support and Duty Management team duties. Supervise, support and organise volunteers, including planning rotas and maintaining presentation standards. Act in line with the National Trust values. Qualifications & Requirements Understanding of visitor engagement, inclusive interpretation and audience development in cultural or heritage settings Teamworking and leadership skills to support and develop staff and volunteers Organisational and co‑ordination skills to manage bookings, events and day‑to‑day visitor operations Financial awareness including budget monitoring and resource planning Awareness of health and safety, safeguarding and accessibility standards Additional Criteria Used to multiple deadlines and managing your own workload Skilled in organisation and planning, with a good eye for detail Good at talking to and getting on with all kinds of people A hard‑working and committed team player Comfortable with IT: Microsoft Office, web and social media Experienced in producing interpretive materials, such as displays and exhibitions, and marketing or promotional materials Familiar with health and safety procedures About the site You will be reporting to the Senior Visitor Experience Officer, working in the Visitor Experience team at Lyveden.
