Location: RuncornContract: Full-Time About the Role An Alternative Provision setting in Runcorn is seeking two enthusiastic and resilient Community Teachers to join its dedicated team. This role involves working within a KS3 & KS4 Pupil Referral Unit, supporting young people who have experienced challenges in mainstream education. About the Role: KS3 students receive targeted intervention and development programs, focusing on reintegration or transition back into mainstream settings. KS4 students attend as part of a wider Alternative Provision timetable, working towards appropriate accreditation aligned with their abilities and preparing for post-16 pathways. The successful candidates will deliver core subjects (English, Maths, Science) and ensure that every student develops skills and knowledge in line with their potential. Teachers will inspire motivation, engagement, and a love for learning, while guiding students toward meaningful qualifications. Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver creative, engaging lessons across core subjects. Identify individual strengths and barriers to learning, implementing innovative strategies to overcome challenges. Provide accredited pathways tailored to student competencies, from Foundation Level up to GCSE. Foster positive relationships and create a supportive learning environment that promotes personal growth and resilience. Essential Qualities and Skills Strong classroom management and the ability to engage students with complex needs. Resilience, adaptability, and a proactive approach to problem‑solving. Excellent communication skills and the ability to build trust with students and families. Creativity in lesson planning and a commitment to removing barriers to learning. A passion for helping young people achieve their potential and prepare for life beyond school. What We’re Looking For Teachers who thrive in challenging environments, demonstrate empathy and patience, and have the determination to make a real difference in the lives of young people. Experience in Alternative Provision or working with students with social, emotional, and mental health needs is desirable but not essential.
