Job Description As a Community Ranger, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring compliance with acts, regulations, local laws and Council policies that keep our community safe. You’ll initiate and implement fair, consistent and transparent enforcement where required, while building positive relationships and delivering public education initiatives. This is a varied and rewarding role across a diverse landscape - from residential streets to coastal reserves and forest trails. Each day brings a mix of law enforcement, community safety programs, education and animal welfare, making the work both dynamic and impactful. Our Ranger Services team works on a rotating Monday‑Sunday roster and provides an after‑hours on‑call service, with applicable shift loadings and allowances. To be considered for this role you will be able to demonstrate: Behaviour aligned with the Shire’s HEART values of Honesty, Empathy, Accountability, Respect and Teamwork Experience as a Ranger or Law Enforcement Officer Strong public relations and high‑level verbal and written communication skills Ability to work independently and in a team Ability to effectively use a range of electronic devices and programs C‑Class driver’s licence, police clearance and First Aid certificate Capacity for physical work, including lifting Previous community safety experience and off‑road driving skills would be advantageous. Qualifications in Regulatory Officer Compliance Skills 1 and 2 (or willingness to obtain) or Certificate III or IV in Local Government Law Enforcement will be highly regarded.
