The Successful Candidate Will Meet The Following Criteria Be suitably qualified and possess a wide interest in all aspects of education. Have a sound knowledge of current national/local curricular developments and learning and teaching theory and practice. Work collaboratively, effectively with colleagues to best meet the needs of our young people. Deliver consistently high‑quality learning, teaching and assessment through inclusive pedagogical approaches. Exhibit the interpersonal skills required to play a full part in safeguarding and nurturing young people, offering the right balance of challenge and support. Demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional learning with a focus on improving outcomes for young people. Job Details Teaching the relevant subject through S1–S6. Perform tasks directed by the Head Teacher, considering overall teacher workload. Teaching assigned classes, including preparation and correcting work. Developing the school curriculum. Assessing, recording and reporting on pupils’ work. Preparing pupils for examinations and assisting with their administration. Providing advice and guidance to pupils on issues related to their education. Promoting and safeguarding the health, welfare and safety of pupils. Working in partnership with parents, support staff and other professionals. Undertaking agreed continuing professional development. Participating in issues related to school planning, raising achievement and individual review. Contributing towards good order and the wider needs of the school. Job Requirements Registered with GTCS as a teacher of the relevant subject. Permanent posts: GTCS Full registration (General). Temporary posts: GTCS Full registration (General) / Provisional registration. PVG Membership This post is considered a Regulated Role with vulnerable children and/or protected adults, as specified in the Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020. All preferred candidates will be required to become a PVG Scheme member, or undergo a PVG Scheme update before any formal offer of employment. If already a member, a PVG update will be required.
