OverviewWe are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for dynamic and motivated Band 6 MSK Physiotherapists to join our forward-thinking MSK team within Torbay and South Devon. The post will be based at Torbay Hospital home to a friendly and supportive physiotherapy team.ResponsibilitiesManage a varied and often complex caseload in musculoskeletal (MSK) outpatient clinics across South Devon.Provide a high standard of physiotherapy service to patients presenting at MSK outpatient clinics.Use a variety of communication methods to conduct patient assessments/interactions, including telephone, video or face-to-face consultations.Assess patient understanding of treatment proposals, gain valid formal consent and jointly agreed goals.Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation, in line with legal, departmental and CSP standards of practice, and monitor progress of less experienced staff.Communicate assessment and treatment results to appropriate disciplines in the form of reports, letters or verbally.Provide accurate and timely data input into the IHCS data collection system for patient registration, contact information and discharge.Act as a source of expertise on the assessment and management of general MSK patients to other healthcare professionals, including GP’s and consultants.Educate and train other physiotherapists, students and healthcare professionals in physiotherapeutic management of general MSK conditions.Offer a range of rehabilitation classes, acupuncture, steroid injections and 1:1 treatment within the MSK service.Maintain close links with multidisciplinary team (MDT) and other service providers.QualificationsBand 6 qualification in physiotherapy.Experience in managing complex MSK caseloads and delivering high quality physiotherapy care in an outpatient setting.Strong clinical reasoning, diagnostic and rehabilitation skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to adapt communication strategies to patient needs.Commitment to maintaining accurate and legally compliant documentation.Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.Experience or willingness to undertake and maintain professional development opportunities.Equality, Diversity and InclusionThe Trust is committed to preventing discrimination, valuing diversity and achieving equality of opportunity.
