Geologist/Engineering Geologist

We have a great opportunity for a dedicated Geologist / Engineering Geologist to join our Infrastructure division and wear the SOCOTEC badge with pride. We are looking for reliable, flexible, and driven Geologist/Engineering Geologist to join our Geotechnical team. As a member of Geotechnical, you will be exposed to a variety of unique projects throughout the country. It is key that you have the balance to be proactive and independent, while simultaneously being a strong team player. Good management skills, and a strong understanding with experience in the industry are vital in order to succeed in this role. The tasks you will undertake will include (but are not limited to): Responsibilities Prepare Health & Safety documentation prior to and during the site works phase, as well as assisting with managing the Health & Safety of operatives and promoting a safe working environment. Logging of soil and rock in accordance with the specification and BS5930. Act as a site agent or a support role, supervising multiple activities and staff for short and longer-term projects. Managing and collating site data using company software systems. Write factual reports summarising findings of ground investigations and contribute to project success. Ensure compliance with regulatory and industry standards during investigations. Provide technical input to design and construction teams. Qualifications A minimum level of fitness required to undertake all site based tasks listed above on a variety of sites including active construction sites and linear projects for roads and railways. Confident and knowledgeable of ground investigation techniques. Look for ways to improve processes, systems, procedures, services and delivery in all roles. Improve skills, knowledge and experience wherever possible to the mutual benefit of the client, SOCOTEC and the individual. Computer literate and competent in use of MS Office to create spreadsheets and documents for effective reporting, communication and record keeping.
