CNC Miller: Programmer Setter Operator Company: Chelburn Precision Ltd Location: Rochdale, United Kingdom Hours: Day shift, 39 hours per week, flexible within company opening hours Salary: Starting up to £20.00 per hour, overtime paid at time and a half up to 48 hours and double time thereafter Benefits Pension 35 days holiday per annum Death in Service Benefit Role Summary We currently have an opportunity for a skilled CNC Miller to join our team. We are an established family‑owned subcontract engineering firm specializing in precision CNC machining. We supply predominately machined steel fabrications and cast‑iron components to industry, ranging from 100 kg to 3 tonne. The role provides the opportunity to work within our award‑winning engineering facility in Rochdale alongside a team of highly skilled machinists using the latest technology. Responsibilities Programming, setting and operating Heidenhain CNC Milling Machines to produce low volume precision parts. Setting up tooling and fixturing, proving out and executing part programs. Following planned operations to completion at prescribed production rates to meet customer delivery schedule in accordance with Company H&S and Quality Policies. Maximizing production while maintaining effective and efficient use of materials and tooling. Carrying out in‑process inspection to drawing specifications. Forward planning to minimise set‑up time and maximize production. Qualifications Experienced in writing and editing programs and able to read and interpret engineering drawings to a high standard. Competent in setting and operating CNC machines. Able to perform initial inspections of own and team members' work using measuring equipment (e.g., micrometers). Sound understanding of materials, modern cutting methods and engineering processes. Produce high quality and accurate output with minimal error rate. Flexible approach to working and willing to work overtime as required to fulfil customer delivery schedules.
