Student’s project is to develop programs and procedures to facilitate finding root cause of various fabrication issues. This work involves implementing procedure to track wafer number used in fab tools, automating data mining of the fab database and correlation to determine root cause of fab issues. Student will work with fab engineering team in fast paced 24x7 GaAs Fab. Requires student with fundamentals in computer science with programming skills. Academic background in physics, chemistry, or material science with familiarity with integrated circuit fabrication is desired. This work requires good interpersonal, analytical and communication skills.ResponsibilitiesImplement procedure to determine wafer number used in fab toolsAutomate data mining and correlation procedure to determine fab issuesMake the programs readable and editableDocument, train and communicate the project to engineering teamRequired Experience and SkillsCurrently enrolled in BS/MS/PhD computer science or engineering programAble to work onsite up to 6 months (June - December 2026)Experienced in programmingBe able to work in clean roomMust be able to effectively communicate with other teamsThe typical pay range for an Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $26.00 - $47.50 per hour and for a Non-Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $22.50 - $42.00 per hour. Starting pay will depend on level of education, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location.
