We’re looking for a dedicated Senior Room Practitioner to join our warm and welcoming team at GOSH Staff Day Nursery. The nursery is in a quiet cul‑de‑sac on Long Yard, with numerous parks and outdoor provisions for the children to visit daily. Main duties of the job Key responsibilities include: Lead a team of nursery nurses/assistants to provide a fun, enabling environment for children to learn and thrive. Guide and mentor a team of early years practitioners to foster a positive team culture within the room and nursery setting. Act as a key worker to name children, carry out observations and developmental reports, and liaise with parents regularly. Work in partnership with the team and parents to act as a positive, professional role model for colleagues and children. Qualifications and experience To be considered for the role you will need to have: A minimum Childcare Level 3 qualification and experience of a room leader role in a busy nursery covering the age range 3 months – 5 years, together with excellent knowledge of child development and current practices. Extensive experience of working as a key person with children aged 0–5 in a nursery setting. Experience of effective planning and observation in a nursery setting. Knowledge of child development and EYFS. Experience in a senior role, e.g., Lead nursery nurse / senior / room leader. Good written and verbal communication skills. Ability to follow instruction and work independently. Ability to adapt to meet service needs within a team. Attendance at monthly staff meetings.
