This is a fantastic chance to begin or develop your career in construction, gaining hands‑on experience across multiple commercial functions within a supportive environment.As a Trainee Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in supporting the Commercial team in delivering high‑quality and cost‑effective housing developments. You will be involved in a wide range of tasks that will give you exposure to the full commercial lifecycle of a project.ResponsibilitiesYour responsibilities will include:Assisting in the preparation and distribution of tender packs to subcontractors and suppliersChasing and collating subcontractor quotationsSupporting general commercial administration tasksMaintaining and updating procurement trackersAssisting in the preparation of commercial reports for Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs)Supporting the team with document control and filing systemsLiaising with internal departments and external stakeholders to ensure smooth commercial operationsDepartmental RotationTo provide a well‑rounded understanding of the commercial function, this role will also include structured rotations in the Buying Department and Estimating Department. During these rotations, you will:Gain insight into procurement strategies and supplier negotiationsAssist in material scheduling and order placementSupport the estimating team in preparing cost plans and feasibility studiesLearn how early‑stage cost assessments influence project viability and design decisionsWhat We’re Looking ForWe’re seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual who is eager to learn and grow within the construction industry.
