Residential Childcare Practitioner Nights – East Sussex County Council Job Description Do you want to make a difference to children in care and help them flourish and achieve their potential? If so, this could be the job for you We have children’s homes across the county where vulnerable children live and receive support from a multi‑disciplinary team of professionals who are responsible for their welfare. As a Residential Youth Support Worker you will work with the children and their families, support the children’s development and wellbeing, and can take a lead on specialist areas and projects such as healthy eating to support improvements across the service. This role is for waking nights with shift times from 8:45 pm to 7:15 am. As with all our care staff you will be on shift every other weekend. We Are Looking For Candidates Who Have Interest in child development and willingness to learn. Experience of working with children and young people. Ability to treat children with dignity and respect and maintain confidentiality at all times. Ability to work as part of an integrated childcare team and demonstrate leadership skills. Ability to engage with children and young people with a range of needs. Full training will be provided. Resilience and capacity to cope with a challenging work environment.
