Technical Advisor – Monitoring and Data Systems Team The Environment Agency is seeking a Technical Advisor to support and enhance its Monitoring Data & Systems (MDS) Team. The role involves managing environmental monitoring systems, analysing and improving data, and providing user support across multiple data products. The position is based at one of our offices in England with a hybrid work model and requires occasional travel. Key Responsibilities Set up and manage users for Water Quality and other environmental data systems. Support users and resolve issues, especially during the transition to the new My Environment application. Maintain and improve datasets, ensuring accuracy and reliability. Respond to internal and external data requests. Participate in system improvement and upgrade projects. Undertake training and participate in incident response duties as required by the Agency. Qualifications and Skills Experience working with large, complex datasets. Willingness to develop and learn new technical skills and apply them across monitoring data systems. Strong organisational, friendly and helpful attitude with an eye for detail. Proactive problem‑solving and excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to build and maintain strong relationships, deliver through others and provide excellent customer service. Desirable Experience Experience using and managing environmental monitoring data systems. Familiarity with PowerBI, Access, Excel, Python, SharePoint Online and R.
