We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN) Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Shepherd's Bush. This is a full-time, long-term role supporting a non-verbal child with autism, starting as soon as possible.

The Role

Provide tailored one-to-one support for a non-verbal child with autism.

Use specialist strategies to promote communication, interaction, and engagement.

Implement Speech and Language Therapy programmes in collaboration with external specialists.

Support the child's learning, social development, and emotional well-being within the classroom and during wider school activities.

Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and parents to ensure consistent, targeted support.

About You

Proven experience supporting children with autism and SLCN, ideally with non-verbal pupils.

Knowledge of communication approaches such as PECS, Makaton, AAC, or visual supports (desirable).

Patient, empathetic, and resilient, with a nurturing approach.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with staff, families, and professionals.

A genuine passion for helping children thrive and achieve their potential.
