The Role:

Here at Survitec, we are currently recruiting for a Financial Accountant to join our Beaufort division in Glasgow.

Key responsibilities for the Financial Accountant role include but are not limited to:

  • Track progress against budgets within established finance systems and report variances, ensuring compliance with local market financial laws and regulations.
  • Implement the global Survitec control framework and drive the effective development and maintenance of financial controls.
  • Independently collate and analyse financial data using standard accounting methodologies, tools, and formats for monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
  • Prepare key financial documents, including statutory accounts, monthly reporting, budgeting, reforecast processes, and management accounts packs with commentary and analysis.
  • Participate in the monthly accounting cycle, including the coordination of the month-end process and associated Board reports.
  • Ensure the business meets its statutory and compliance obligations, including statutory accounting and tax issues, ensuring accurate accounting records for local entities.
  • Provide support and advice to others in the team to enhance data management systems.
  • Resolve queries from internal or external customers or suppliers regarding complex processes and policies.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of financial policies and guidelines to ensure compliance with regulations and good financial practices.
  • Lead, coach, and develop an engaged finance team, fostering a high-performance culture and continuous improvement.
  • Identify and address instances of non-compliance with Survitec's policies and procedures.

About You:

Essential criteria:

  • Educated to High School / Further Education College level with 2 A Levels.
  • General experience in accounting, with the ability to work independently.
  • Experience of coordinating the work of others is advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals and principles.
  • Proficient in financial data analysis and reporting using accounting systems and tools.
  • Ability to solve problems with complex, high-quantity data.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to deliver multi-mode communications to different audiences.
  • Experience with budgeting, reforecasting, and financial reporting processes.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
