We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Design Engineer to join our team in Belfast supporting one of our clients in the marine sector. This is a contract‑based role based out of Belfast working on site. The rate is negotiable based on experience and seniority. Candidates should have design experience, preferably in the marine sector, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project requirements. Responsibilities 3D modeling and production of 2D system layouts for vessel assembly system design & integration Lead design activities for mechanical and electrical systems including bilge, fire suppression, wiper systems, and other critical installations. Ensure compliance with Lloyd’s Register, DNV, and customer specifications. 3D Modelling & Documentation Create and manage detailed 3D models and 2D drawings using CATIA V5/V6 (3DS). Release accurate design documentation and drawings for production. Weight Management Perform weight calculations across components and assemblies to meet vessel weight targets. Implement material changes and weight‑saving strategies where necessary. Cross‑Functional Collaboration Work closely with internal departments and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of compliant systems and components. Participate in design reviews and resolve technical issues effectively. Compliance & Standards Apply knowledge of mechanical and electrical installation standards throughout the design process. Ensure all designs meet marine safety and regulatory requirements.
