STS Aviation Services is hiring Aircraft Sheet Metal Mechanics in Birmingham, United Kingdom. You will support modifications, heavy maintenance, and structural repairs across a variety of aircraft platforms while working within an experienced, safety-driven team.If you want to contribute to a growing organisation that values professionalism, craft, and reliability, this is the opportunity.Key Duties and ResponsibilitiesCarry out modifications and maintenance in accordance with approved drawings and maintenance data, taking full accountability for the technical integrity of all work performedComplete strip and removal of major structural aircraft equipmentInterpret technical manuals, technical drawings, and regulatory requirementsInstall complex structural assembliesWork to fine tolerances and consistently high standardsUse sealants, fasteners, and bonding techniques as requiredMaintain the highest standards of tool control within the work areaMaintain a safe and clean working environmentProvide regular updates on any issues affecting the work plan, including proposed solutions where applicableReport unsafe conditions to the Lead Technician or B1 Engineer and through internal reporting channelsSkills and AbilitiesCompleted an engineering apprenticeship, ideally in Aeronautical Engineering or military equivalentIdeally two years of live aircraft sheet metal or structural experiencePrevious aircraft production experiencePrevious aircraft modification experience is advantageousExcellent hand skillsStrong attention to detailEligible to work and live in the United KingdomSubject to UK Security VettingExcellent knowledge of airframesReliability and adaptabilityGood interpersonal skillsPart 145 Training RequirementsInitial Human Factors and Continuation Training Human FactorsInitial SFAR Phase 1 and 2 and Continuation Training SFAR Phase 1 and 2Initial EWIS Group 1 and 2 and Continuation Training EWIS Group 1 and 2ETOPSRVSMAbout STS Aviation ServicesSTS Aviation Services is the aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul arm of STS Aviation Group.
