Consultant Psychiatrist – Liaison Psychiatry, Lancaster We are seeking a full‑time (10PA) Consultant Psychiatrist in Liaison Psychiatry based at Royal Lancaster Infirmary, Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust. The role supports the Emergency Department and medical assessment wards, providing rapid assessment for patients aged 16 and over and advice for in‑patients. Main duties and responsibilities Lead a multidisciplinary team supported by junior doctors, nursing staff, operational managers, clinical psychologists, social workers, pharmacists and occupational therapists. Participate in the Consultant On Call rota (additional remuneration provided). Deliver rapid assessment and liaison services to improve patient care and outcomes. Essential qualifications MBBS or equivalent. Full GMC registration and licence to practice. Entry on GMC Specialist Register (or within 6 months at interview). Section 12 approved. Approved Clinician Status (or within 6 months at interview). Essential experience Knowledge, skills and experience relevant to this role. Benefits Golden Hello bonus payment available. Eligibility for 5% payment of basic salary over 2 years. Consultant On Call rota remuneration. At least 2.5 SPAs as standard for full‑time posts; potential enhancements. Excellent peer support group. Study leave budget £3,000 over 3 years (up to £5,000 for newly qualified Consultants). Opportunities to be a clinical supervisor. Relocation package available. Support for clinical and educational supervision and digital leadership roles. Salary & contract Pay scheme: Hospital medical and dental staff. Grade: Consultant.
