*John Van Geest Centre for Brain Repair* Research Nurse/Practitioner (0.6 FTE) An opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and enthusiastic individual with an interest in Parkinson's disease to join Dr Caroline Williams-Gray's team as a Research Nurse/Practitioner in the Clinical Neurosciences department at the University of Cambridge. The lab works at the interface of clinical and laboratory science, aiming to better understand the clinical variability of Parkinson's disease and the underlying biological basis of this, with a view to developing more targeted and personalized therapies. The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting the EJS-ACT PD trial. The post-holder will manage the delivery of the EJS ACT-PD Trial at the Cambridge site, facilitate recruitment from under-served communities and support the trial's delivery across less experienced sites within the Research Delivery Network region. EJS ACT-PD is a multi-arm, multi-stage platform trial assessing potential disease-modifying therapies for Parkinson's disease. The trial will be delivered on a national scale, across approximately 40 UK sites with a 4-year recruitment period and 3-year treatment duration. EJS ACT-PD will be co-led by University College London and Newcastle University and coordinated by the Medical Research Council Clinical Trials Unit (MRC CTU). Approximately 15 core-funded staff members in similar roles will be place at delivery sites across the UK to form a network of dedicated delivery staff. The post-holder will have responsibility for the recruitment of eligible participants to EJS ACT-PD, using EDI strategies to encourage diverse participation from underserved groups. They will also be responsible for data collection during participant study visits at their site, including administration of Parkinson's disease rating -scales (e.g., MDS-UPDRS). It is expected that the post-holder will support less experienced trial sites within their region to improve regional PD research infrastructure.
