Overview Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer Location: Willenhall Employment Type: Full-Time Security Clearance Required: UK Nationals Only Are you an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer with a mechanical background looking to join a cutting-edge, defence-focused organisation? We're seeking a proactive and adaptable Mechanical Design Engineer to play a key role in delivering high-quality engineering solutions in a secure and fast-paced environment. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on innovative, technically challenging projects where your skills and input will make a real impact. Responsibilities Support all phases of mechanical design and project engineering Create and manage project plans, drawings, and procurement documentation Generate and manage parts lists, RFQs, and purchase orders Oversee project procurement, deliveries, and goods-in processes Assist during build, testing, and final assembly phases Provide technical and administrative support to senior engineers and management Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with engineering processes Qualifications SVQ/NVQ Level 5, ONC/HNC (Minimum Level 4), or City & Guilds T4/T6 in Mechanical Engineering Completed EITB-approved apprenticeship preferred Experience: Ideally 5+ years in a mechanical design or manufacturing environment Strong foundation in mechanical engineering principles with an analytical and methodical approach Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel, and Project Experience with SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software is highly desirable Personal Attributes: Adaptable and well-organised Strong communication skills, both written and verbal Team-oriented with a proactive, problem-solving mindset What We Offer Work on cutting-edge defence and engineering projects Supportive and collaborative team environment Excellent opportunities for long-term career progression Competitive salary and benefits package Interested?
