Accounts Assistant Manager – Maternity Cover (9–12 Months)South East | Hybrid Working | Full or Part Time (min. 3 days/week)We’re currently working with a well-established and highly respected accountancy practice who are seeking an Accounts Assistant Manager to join their team on a 9–12 month maternity contract. This is a fantastic opportunity to manage your own client portfolio, support senior colleagues, and help deliver exceptional service to a wide range of businesses and individuals.Whether you’re looking for full-time hours or part-time flexibility (a minimum of 3 days per week), this firm offers a supportive and collaborative working environment, with hybrid options available.The RoleAs Accounts Assistant Manager, you’ll take responsibility for a varied portfolio of clients, working with limited companies, partnerships, LLPs and sole traders. You’ll play a key role in the preparation and review of accounts and tax returns, while also supporting more junior team members and liaising with offshore resources where needed.Key responsibilities include:Managing a portfolio of owner-managed businesses and individualsPreparing year-end accounts, corporation tax and partnership tax returnsReviewing VAT returns and supporting with management accountsSupervising, mentoring, and reviewing the work of junior team membersLiaising directly with clients, providing ongoing advice and supportEnsuring high standards of quality, accuracy, and client servicePreparing billing and monitoring WIP for review by senior leadershipWhat We’re Looking ForACA/ACCA Qualified (or equivalent)Strong experience in accounts and tax within general practiceExcellent communication skills and a client-focused approachAbility to manage multiple deadlines and maintain attention to detailConfident in using cloud-based accounting software (Xero, Sage, etc.)A team player with experience mentoring or supervising junior staffWhat’s On OfferCompetitive salary and benefits package25.5 days holiday (plus bank holidays), with holiday buying optionsHybrid working (typically 3 days in the office, 2 from home)Supportive, friendly and inclusive team cultureContinuous training and clear progression routesHealth and wellbeing support including private medical insurance, critical illness cover, life assurance and employee assistance programmesOpportunities to give back, including a paid volunteering day and charitable initiativesThis firm is passionate about creating an inclusive and accessible workplace, offering reasonable adjustments wherever needed to ensure all employees can thrive.Interested in learning more?We’d love to hear from experienced accounts professionals who are ready to step into a rewarding, varied, and client-facing role with a forward-thinking practice. #J-18808-Ljbffr
