Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Non-Contentious Construction Solicitor to join a leading Top 50 national law firm. The firm is renowned for its expertise across various sectors and offers a collaborative environment where talent is nurtured and professional development is a priority.

Role and Responsibilities

As a Non-Contentious Construction Solicitor, you will be involved in a broad range of high-quality construction matters. You will work alongside senior lawyers and industry experts, advising clients on construction contracts, procurement, and project structuring. Your role will involve:

  1. Drafting and negotiating a wide variety of construction-related contracts (including building contracts, consultants' appointments, subcontracts, and supply chain agreements).
  2. Advising clients on construction procurement strategies and risk management.
  3. Providing guidance on regulatory issues related to construction projects.
  4. Collaborating with clients, contractors, and project teams to resolve contractual issues, ensuring smooth project delivery.
  5. Assisting clients on all aspects of the lifecycle of construction projects, from inception through to completion and post-completion.

Key Requirements

  1. 5+ years' post-qualification experience (PQE) in Non-Contentious Construction Law, with a strong focus on construction contracts and project advisory work.
  2. Proven experience in advising clients on major construction and engineering projects across sectors such as infrastructure, energy, and commercial real estate.
  3. Excellent drafting and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
  4. Sound understanding of the construction industry, including relevant legislation and industry standards.
  5. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
  6. A proactive and solution-focused approach to problem-solving.

Desirable Skills

  1. Experience in advising on international construction projects is advantageous but not essential.
  2. Experience within the Energy sector is desirable but not essential.
