Family Support Worker Neway have a vacancy for a Family Support Worker to join our client based with the Vale of Glamorgan Council. Start Date: 01 December 2025 Duration: 18 Weeks Hours per Week: 37 Location: 7 Skomer Road, Barry, Vale of Glamorgan, CF62 9DA Job Description Vale of Glamorgan Council is seeking a TAF Worker to join the Families First team within Social Services. This role provides direct support to children, young people, and their families/carers, helping them to improve relationships, build independence, and access coordinated services. Key Responsibilities Deliver consistent, high-quality support to children, young people, parents, and carers referred to the Families First TAF Service. Work in partnership with families and professionals, representing the service positively with partner agencies. Undertake assessments of need and risk to inform support planning. Facilitate and chair multi-agency TAF meetings and reviews, ensuring support plans are agreed, implemented, and monitored. Carry out direct work with families, using motivational techniques to encourage engagement and positive change. Identify and elevate safeguarding concerns in line with council policies. Maintain accurate case records and provide reports as required. Participate in supervision, appraisal, and ongoing professional development. Contribute to service planning and performance targets. Requirements Experience of working with children, young people, and families in a social care or support setting. Strong communication and motivational skills, with the ability to build trust and encourage engagement. Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and relevant legislation. Ability to chair meetings, manage support plans, and work collaboratively with multi-agency teams. Commitment to continuous professional development. Registration with Social Care Wales is not essential. Additional Information Hybrid working: 4 days office-based, 1 day working from home.
