A growing legal practice in Selby is seeking a motivated Conveyancing Assistant to support its busy residential and new‑build property teams. This is a client‑facing role suited to someone who takes pride in offering a professional, friendly and efficient service.About the RoleThe successful candidate will work across a high‑volume caseload, supporting fee earners and ensuring matters progress smoothly. Prior experience in conveyancing—particularly sales and purchases—is essential, as the firm is looking for someone who can step into the role with confidence from day one.In return, you’ll join a supportive team with opportunities for training, development, and future career progression.Key ResponsibilitiesOpening new files and entering initial instructions into the case management systemPreparing standard letters and documents in line with team proceduresUpdating case records as matters advanceIssuing contracts on sale files and assisting with replies to enquiriesOrdering searches and managing related documentationHandling exchanges and associated paperworkPreparing completion arrangementsProducing mortgage reports for clientsManaging incoming post and responding to telephone enquiries where appropriateSupporting the office with filing, billing, photocopying, archiving, and general administrative tasksStrong keyboard, literacy and numeracy skillsHigh level of accuracy and attention to detailExcellent client‑handling and communication abilitiesAble to work well under pressure and manage competing deadlinesFlexible, adaptable, and capable of working independently as well as within a teamStrong organisational skills and a proactive approachExperience RequiredAt least 12 months’ experience in conveyancing, specifically residential sales and purchasesExperience working in a fast‑paced environmentAbout CRA ConsultingWe are a specialist legal recruitment consultancy, dedicated to matching talented legal professionals with leading practices across the UK.
