The role We are currently seeking lecturers to teach across a range of undergraduate levels as part of our BSc (Hons) Computing programme. Due to our delivery model we require flexibility to teach during weekdays, evenings and at weekends. This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship. What you'll be doing As a Lecturer in Computing you will deliver modules focused on Technology, Software, and Data, developing and presenting comprehensive course materials. You will be responsible for all aspects of teaching and assessment and will keep up to date with the latest developments in your field and student support practices. Responsibilities Plan, deliver, and assess student work ensuring all learning outcomes are met. Develop, update, and improve course materials. Use a variety of teaching methods and materials. Engage in staff development activities, peer observations, and meetings. Maintain knowledge of current developments in your field and student support practices. Work towards defined objectives for student attendance, continuation, completion, satisfaction, and progression. About You Hold a Master’s degree in a relevant subject area (PhD desirable). Have previous UK HE lecturing experience in the wider subject area. Demonstrate extensive knowledge of two or more of the following areas: Programming and software development, Web development, Database systems, Cloud computing, Networking, Cybersecurity, IoT and emerging technologies, Business IT systems, IT management, AI and Machine Learning, Operating Systems, UI/UX. Have experience supervising student work and providing support and feedback. Maintain accurate reporting and thorough student records. Work under pressure, plan and prioritise own workload to meet tight deadlines. Exhibit excellent communication, interpersonal and team‑working skills. Work with diverse groups of people. Desirable Hold a Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice or equivalent teaching qualification; or a commitment to enrol on a teaching programme during the probationary period and complete within three years; or Fellowship of HEA (or international equivalent). Experience designing/developing academic or professional education programmes or equivalent.
