Quantity Surveyor – Capital Projects & Maintenance A client within the Public Sector based in North Yorkshire is currently recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to join their Capital Projects and Maintenance team. The role is full‑time, temporary and ongoing. The ideal candidate has experience working within a local authority in a highways or property maintenance environment. Key Purpose To provide commercial and cost management support for the delivery of capital and planned maintenance projects across a diverse commercial property and highways portfolio, ensuring value for money and compliance with governance standards throughout project delivery. Key Responsibilities Managing cost forecasting, budgeting and value reconciliation across projects. Administering contracts and subcontracts, including change control and final accounts. Supporting procurement and supply chain management activities. Providing commercial advice and ensuring compliance with governance and requirements. Collaborating closely with project teams, clients and stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes. Candidate Requirements HNC in Quantity Surveying or a related commercial discipline. Valid CSCS card (or willingness to obtain). Full UK driving licence and ability to travel across North Yorkshire. Beneficial Skills Strong commercial understanding of civil engineering and maintenance operations. Excellent knowledge of NEC and other standard construction contract forms. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and Project. Remuneration £30 per hour Umbrella LTD inside IR35 (approx. £24 per hour PAYE).
