Job Title and Salary Alternative Provision Support Worker Grade and Salary Grade 4: £24,490 – £26,566 actual salary per annum pro rata (£28,598 – £31,022 FTE). Working pattern: 37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year. Contract term: Permanent. Role Overview We are looking for an inclusive, student‑focused, resilient, emotionally literate person to work as part of a small team, together with the current Ambition Coordinator, to support students at risk of permanent exclusion from school to remain in education and/or training. The role will involve delivering one‑to‑one or group sessions with students following an alternative curriculum pathway. These may address behavioural, social or emotional issues or be bespoke lessons to deliver aspects of the curriculum. We are keen to play to the strengths of the successful candidate and would welcome examples of curriculum areas you could deliver. The role also involves monitoring off‑site provision, meeting with parents and teachers regarding the provision for the young person, and organising day trips and other relevant activities. Candidate Profile You will be patient and caring and able to quickly form excellent relationships with vulnerable young people and their parents/carers. You will have a creative and optimistic approach to re‑engaging these young people; you will need boundless energy, a good sense of humour and a strong sense of social justice. You will be accountable, together with the Ambition Coordinator, for the attendance, behaviour and outcomes of the small cohort of students you are working with.
