Technical Advisor – Monitoring and Data Systems Team – 32406 The Environment Agency are fully committed to having an inclusive workforce to reflect the communities we serve. Overview The Monitoring Data & Systems Team (MDS) manages important environmental monitoring systems and datasets. In this role you will support our Water Quality systems and data, and other systems as needed. Key Responsibilities Set up and manage users Provide support and resolve issues for users, especially during the transition to our new My Environment application Update, improve and maintain datasets Respond to internal and external data requests Support system improvement and upgrade projects Qualifications and Experience Experience working with large complex datasets Willingness to develop and learn new technical skills and apply them across monitoring data and systems A motivated, organised, friendly and helpful person with an eye for detail, comfortable in a dispersed team environment Proactive and enjoys solving problems Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to convey complex technical information to both technical and non‑technical audiences Ability to build and maintain strong relationships, deliver through others and provide excellent customer service Desirable Skills Experience of using and managing environmental monitoring data systems Experience of using PowerBI, Access, Excel, Python, SharePoint Online and R A working knowledge of water quality monitoring Benefits and Working Arrangements You’ll have access to our great benefits package, including generous annual leave, an excellent pension and flexible working arrangements. Location & Travel Work location is flexible, but you must have a base at one of our offices across England and attend in‑office meetings.
