West Berkshire Council's Adult Social Care Team is seeking a skilled Social Worker to join our dynamic and supportive team, reporting to the Team Leader. The Role As a Social Worker within the Adult Social Care Team, you will be responsible for: Conducting assessments and reviews of individuals' social care needs, ensuring the delivery of high-quality person-centred care. Working collaboratively with service users, their families, and other professionals to develop and implement appropriate support plans. Advocating for the rights and wishes of individuals, promoting independence and enabling access to a range of services. Providing information, advice, and guidance to service users and their carers. Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and organisational policies. Contributing to the continuous improvement of services through participation in team meetings, supervision, and professional development. Qualifications and Attributes The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and attributes: Qualified Social Worker with a recognised social work qualification and registration with Social Work England. Experience working in an adult social care setting, with a sound understanding of the challenges and complexities involved. Excellent assessment and intervention skills, with the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, fostering positive relationships with service users, colleagues, and external stakeholders. Ability to work independently, managing a caseload and prioritising tasks effectively.Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and frameworks governing adult social care. A commitment to continuous professional development and a willingness to engage in reflective practice.
