Campus Maintenance Technician

Our Vision: Changing Lives through Education The Role: The Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer will maintain, install, and refurbish fabric and equipment across the GBS UK estates portfolio. The position involves monitoring building conditions, undertaking repairs and renovations, and assisting Estates and Facilities in planning refurbishment projects. The role requires travel to other GBS UK campuses and flexible working to accommodate business operations, including out‑of‑hours work as needed. A 40‑hour week is expected, covering campus operating hours from Monday to Sunday, 7:00 am to 9:30 pm. Responsibilities Preventative and reactive maintenance Building and equipment maintenance Health, safety, and compliance Documentation and inventory management Refurbishment and fit‑out projects Travel and flexibility to support operations Experience And Skills Required 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification City & Guilds Level 2 and/or Level 3 in Electrical Installations, or equivalent NVQ, or demonstrable experience to the same standard Previous experience in building maintenance including M&E systems Manual skills and knowledge of refurbishment techniques Proactive attitude with a “can do” mindset Familiarity with COSHH requirements for equipment and chemicals Interpersonal skills; able to work independently and as part of the facilities wider team Full, clean driving licence What We Offer 25 days annual leave, plus 8 public holidays 1‑day extra leave per year of service, up to a maximum of 5 days Workplace pension scheme Tuition reimbursement for career development courses Flexible benefits: Cycle to Work, Workplace Nursery, Techscheme and more Perks@Work discounts platform, wellbeing centre and more Reward and recognition programme £500 employee referral award Discretionary annual performance bonus “GBS has been a good place for professional growth.
