Our client has a requirement for a Senior Electrical Engineer, who will be required to work on a contract basis in Bristol.

Role Purpose:

To provide electrical engineering expertise across a variety of projects, supporting project delivery in the Midlands, Southwest & Wales region. The role involves designing and specifying electrical building services systems while ensuring compliance with relevant standards and best practices.

Job Role Responsibilities:

  • Interpret and understand project briefs.
  • Design and specify electrical building services systems, including power, earthing, lighting, life safety, telecoms, security, access control, lifts, and lightning protection.
  • Conduct and oversee detailed calculations using software tools such as Amtech, Dialux/Relux, and Excel.
  • Prepare technical specifications using NBS.
  • Work with BIM teams and use Autodesk Revit for design development.
  • Conduct site surveys, inspections, and monitor site works.
  • Prepare reports and technical notes.
  • Maintain compliance with quality, environmental, and governance processes.
  • Manage workload, project deliverables, and budget considerations.
  • Support the technical development of junior staff.

Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications:

  • Degree qualified in Building Services Engineering / Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Chartered Engineer status (CIBSE or IET preferred).
  • Proficient in Amtech/Prodesign, Dialux/Relux, NBS, and Microsoft packages (HV tools beneficial).
  • Knowledge of energy reduction methods, decarbonisation, and building physics principles.
  • Experience with measurement, verification, commissioning, and post-installation evaluation.
  • Strong understanding of technical standards and regulations.
  • Ability to manage project deliverables, work independently, and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent report writing, presentation, and client communication skills.
