Maintenance Controller - Specialist Vehicle VOR Team We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Controller to oversee our specialist vehicle fleet based in Birmingham, UK. This permanent role offers a hybrid work schedule (3 days per week in office) and a competitive salary of approximately £36,000 per year, commensurate with experience. Key Responsibilities Ensure costs are managed effectively and vehicle availability maximised while delivering exceptional service to customers. Manage authorisation requests quickly and accurately, validate the necessity of work, apply correct pricing and labour times, challenge vendors, and input data accurately into Holman systems. Control downtime, conduct quality work‑progress activities, and maintain clear, accurate system updates. Engage with customers on authorisation activities, determine cost‑effective solutions, and keep them informed of progress. Required Qualifications & Experience Technical vehicle‑related qualifications such as City & Guilds. Strong understanding of motor vehicle mechanics, preferably including HGV and ancillary equipment. Knowledge of vehicle compliance requirements and adherence to safety standards. Computer literacy: proficient in Microsoft Outlook and Excel. Experience in a workshop or similar setting and working within an office team. Demonstrable analytical and problem‑solving abilities. Excellent communication skills, ability to handle technical and difficult conversations. Benefits 25 days annual holiday + 8 bank holidays. Floating day holiday in lieu of birthday.
