Facilities Manager: Portering Services / Domestic Services (Central) We currently have an opportunity within our Facilities team in Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (Central) for an enthusiastic, motivated individual to take delegated responsibility for the following services in the Central Area: Residential Accommodation Materials Management / Stores Post Room Domestic Services & Linen Distribution (when required) Portering Services Transport (on site) The overall purpose of the role is to manage the provision of a range of Facilities Services (excluding Catering) within the acute and community hospital sites in the Central geographical area of the Health Board. Responsibilities The Manager has responsibility for providing operational support for these services for the Head of Facilities (Central) and other members of the Senior Management Team. Lead in identifying and implementing change, contributing to direction and strategy. Develop policies following allocation of specific responsibilities. Use resources effectively and contribute to wider activities and plans of Facilities and BCUHB. Travel to Community Hospitals and Clinics; main office at Glan Clwyd Hospital. Ensure service delivery meets standards and complies with statutory regulations and legislation. Person Specification Qualifications and Knowledge Relevant degree and evidence of continuous professional development at postgraduate level. Relevant Management qualification, e.g. ILM Level 5 or higher, and/or equivalent experience. Formal structures courses such as Postgraduate Diploma, Prince2, NEBOSH. Significant level of knowledge, training and relevant experience. Experience Demonstrated achievement of service improvement (with examples). Practical employee relations experience, including liaison with staff representatives and partnership working. Operational middle management experience in a healthcare institution or related area. Achievement of financial controls. Skills and Attributes Ability to initiate, implement and manage change effectively. Ability to prioritise competing demands for resources, time and workload. Awareness and appreciation of current issues related to Facilities in the NHS. Knowledge of statutory regulations and legislation relating to Health and Safety at Work, risk management, facilities services, waste management. Additional Requirements Flexibility with working hours. Ability to visit all sites in the locality. Employment Details Seniority level: Mid‑Senior level Employment type: Full‑time Job function: Management Industries: Hospitals and Health Care This is a full‑time permanent position based at Glan Clwyd Hospital but requires travel to community hospitals and clinics. The Health Board offers paid annual leave, enhanced pay for weekend working, and a Superannuation Pension Scheme.
