Job Title 4Voice Announcer & Production Apprentice Location London Line Manager Creative and Operations Leads Start Date September 2026 Company Channel 4 Apprenticeship Programme The apprenticeship is full‑time, with four days per week spent working in a Channel 4 department and one day per week completing the formal learning parts of the apprenticeship. The formal training consists of workshops, tutorials, webinars, coaching and, in some cases, residential boot camps. Eligibility Must be 18 years old or over at the start of the programme. Have a Grade C (4) or above in Maths & English GCSE. Have not already completed the qualification offered or a similar one. School leavers and people who do not have a degree are the primary target, though those with a degree may explore the Production Training Scheme. Key Responsibilities Watch content and write concise, insightful, editorially and legally compliant promotional scripts for each channel’s brand. Write scripts for Channel 4 Streaming. Refine scripts following feedback. Record, edit and upload audio for pre‑recorded transmissions on linear channels and on Channel 4 Streaming. Work collaboratively with key stakeholders to ensure sign‑off on all marketing messaging. React quickly and creatively to varied briefs from across the business. Assist with production administration, including setting deadlines and managing calendars. Organise post‑production bookings, maintain relationships with suppliers and the internal production centre. Sourcing material for projects, social video, pitches & briefs. Assist in departmental admin, including department events, away days, creative team meetings and award submissions. Ensure archiving and logging of all 4Voice project material across the business. Help maintain databases and trackers. Be passionate about and understand the Channel 4 remit. Essential Experience & Skills Verbal and written communication skills. Attention to detail. Organisation skills and ability to prioritise tasks. An understanding of and passion for Channel 4’s remit. Inquisitive mindset with a hunger to learn, develop and grow. Calm under pressure and able to work to tight deadlines. Creative thinker with confidence and sense of humour. Demonstrable passion for production, television and advertising. Mac & PC literate.
