Engineering Manager – Digital Engineering Chapter Manager Join to apply for the Engineering Manager role at E.ON UK. Location & Workstyle Hybrid basis in Solihull, UK – a balanced mix of in‑office and remote work. Responsibilities Lead and support a team of approximately 26 Engineers and Data Scientists across Data Engineering, Software Engineering, and Systems Engineering. Ensure the Engineering Chapter has the skills, capacity, and confidence to support DevOps product lifecycles and digital product roadmaps. Promote continuous improvement in engineering practices, including AI adoption, CI/CD, and GitOps methodologies. Mentor and coach the team to build a high‑performing, collaborative, and supportive culture. Guide teams to adopt and maintain architectural standards, principles, and guidelines. Explore and encourage the adoption of automation, AI, and improvements to the DevOps lifecycle maturity across product and platform teams. Manage engineering risks, KPIs, and HR activities, including recruitment, performance reviews, and team wellbeing. Build strong relationships with internal IT teams and external partners to foster collaboration and knowledge sharing. Stay curious and informed on emerging technologies and trends to inspire innovation and improvement. Qualifications Degree‑level or equivalent qualification in IT, Engineering, Science, or a related field. Experienced IT leader with a track record of managing digital engineering or IT development teams, including budgets and external IT partners. Solid understanding of Agile, DevOps, and Product lifecycle methodologies, and how modern engineering tools, platforms, and practices integrate with them. Experience managing IT risks, audits, and security compliance collaboratively with stakeholders. Excellent strategic thinking, problem‑solving, and communication skills. Ability to foster an inclusive, collaborative, and supportive team culture. Nice to Have Knowledge of outsourcing or global delivery methodologies. Experience in a regulated environment or within the utilities/energy sector. Experience managing relationships with senior or C‑suite partners.
