Overview We are recruiting band 5 podiatrists who are passionate about diabetic foot protection. The role focuses on providing evidence‑based assessment, review, and treatment to patients at moderate and high risk of diabetic foot complications within the NELFT service. Responsibilities Provide comprehensive assessment, review and treatment of diabetic foot patients as per local care pathways, codes of practice and professional standards. Deliver clinical care for acute and chronic foot pathologies in community settings using first‑class assessment, diagnostic and communication skills. Develop and implement programmes of care and treatment plans in accordance with clinical quality guidelines. Support the Diabetes Foot Protection Service team and collaborate with partners across the Integrated Care Board, primary care networks and secondary care. Mentor and support new graduates in professional development within diabetic and high‑risk pathways. Qualifications Valid HCPC registration. Proficiency in IT tools such as Internet, e‑mail and Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Knowledge of diabetic assessment and review procedures and awareness of NICE guidelines. Excellent communication skills with patients, staff and multidisciplinary teams. Additional Information Probationary period (subject to probation). High Cost Area Supplement – 15% of basic salary (minimum £4,714 to maximum £5,941). Salary: £31,049 to £37,796 per annum (pro rata) plus HCAS. Contract: Permanent.
