Job Title: Lead Cover Supervisor Contract Type: Permanent Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week (Monday to Thursday 7.5 hours, Friday 7 hours) Provisional Start Date: 23 February 2026 Actual Annual Salary: £30,700 - £33,951 (based on hours and working weeks) Full Time Equivalent Salary: £35,852 - £39,649 (CLF Grade E, 37 hours per week all year round) Responsibilities Lead cover provision during teacher absences, ensuring lessons run smoothly and learning continuity for all students. Coordinate and deploy cover efficiently, support students with curriculum tasks and promote positive behaviour. Collaborate with senior leaders to deliver a consistent and effective cover provision. Coach and guide staff, including supply teachers, to uphold academy standards. Make quick decisions under pressure in a fast‑paced environment. About You Basic knowledge and understanding of the curriculum Understanding of learning processes, barriers to learning, and behaviour management strategies Good literacy and numeracy competency with a minimum of 5 GCSEs (including Maths and English at grade C/4 or above), or equivalent qualifications Excellent organisational and problem‑solving skills Previous staff management or supervisory experience Able to deal with sensitive and confidential matters discreetly and considerately About Kings Oak Academy Kings Oak Academy is an all‑through school (ages 4‑16) situated in South Gloucestershire, close to Bristol and Bath.
