Responsibilities Support the drafting of BAT Conclusions. Liaise with Technical Working Groups. Present a final document suitable for publication as a new UK-wide environmental standard for industry. Qualifications and Skills Good understanding of process engineering and environmental issues. Attention to detail when reviewing technical documents. Sound knowledge of environmental legislation and policy in the UK. Capacity to critically review arguments and data. Ability to coordinate the work of technical authors. Strong project management skills and a drive to complete tasks. Experience and Additional Skills At least 5 years working experience with solid understanding of environmental regulation across multiple industrial sectors. Expertise in UK and EU industrial environmental legislation, particularly IED and Environmental Permitting Regulations. Experience coordinating and reviewing the publication of technical documents. Understanding the implications of BAT Conclusions in permits, on industry and the environment. Strong verbal and written communication abilities. Planning, prioritising, and organising tasks and resources to ensure timely and effective results. Flexibility to respond to challenges and build consensus. Skill in collecting and technically analysing complex industrial data. Ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures, encouraging others to consider diversity issues. Interviews will be held using MS Teams with four capability-based questions and a presentation. We will hold a reserve list for six months, and depending on your skills/experience you may be offered an alternative post.
