This is a strategic role, focused on two exciting categories based around laboratory services and equipment. You’ll work alongside world-class scientists and stakeholders across the Institute to deliver cutting-edge research through smart, sustainable procurement.About the RoleAs a Procurement Partner, you’ll be a trusted advisor across the business, combining market knowledge, commercial insight, and strategic thinking to deliver real value.Develop, own, and deliver category strategies.Provide market intelligence and commercial analysis to support decision-making.Build and maintain supplier relationships that foster collaboration, innovation, and resilience.Lead sourcing projects and manage complex negotiations.Act as a strategic partner to senior stakeholders.Line manage Category Buyer(s), contributing to the leadership of the Procurement function.Continuously improve ways of working, embedding efficiency, governance, and pragmatic solutions.About YouYou’re an experienced procurement professional with strong category management expertise, ideally in scientific or technical areas. With a proactive and solution-focused mindset, you’ll connect market insight with organisational strategy while building trusted relationships at every level.Essential Skills IncludeProven track record in procurement/category management.Strong market knowledge and ability to turn insight into strategy.Expertise in supplier relationship management and value creation.Skilled negotiator with experience handling complex discussions.Data analysis and clear communication of recommendations.Organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.Strong understanding of commercial risk and contracts.Adaptable, self-motivated, and confident in dynamic environments.About Our ClientWithin our client’s business, Procurement goes beyond cost savings.
