We're focused on hiring the right people and what you’re capable of doing here.The Work You’ll DoThe Sales Engineer will work with the Direct Sales and Alliance teams to provide technical support during the sales cycle for our solutions within Sovos’ Indirect Tax Technology Suite (ITTS). The Sales Engineer acts as the bridge between sales and product, professional services & support, utilizing technical expertise to support the sales team and deliver solutions that meet customer needs. The role requires strong communication and cross-functional collaboration to execute complex sales initiatives and deliver robust sales strategies, product demonstrations, and technical support to clients and internal teams. The Senior Sales Engineer will report to the Sales Engineering Manager – Europe.More Specifically You WillProvide superior domain expertise around ITTS solutionsMaintain expert-level understanding of functionality and technical architecture of our productsAssist in the client discovery process to uncover challenges and desired solution architecture; review discovery questionnaires to document customer landscape and identify sales opportunitiesDevelop an understanding of customer needs and align Sovos solutions to meet requirementsWork closely with Sovos’ Sales to conduct sales and solutions presentationsCollaborate with Professional Services and product teams to ensure successful onboarding post-saleMaintain and improve demonstration capabilities to present key features and benefits of Sovos solutionsConduct in-depth technical presentations and product demonstrations to prospects and clientsAct with integrity and demonstrate ethical behavior with all stakeholdersTake responsibility for internal and external customer satisfactionDemonstrate self-awareness and commitment to personal developmentFocus on process improvement and optimizing sales workflows to drive revenue growth and customer satisfactionDevelop and lead training sessions within and outside the Sales Engineer departmentServe as a subject matter expert for RFP and RFI responses for prospective new clientsWhat We Need From YouBachelor’s in a related field, or equivalent combination of experience and educationMinimum 1 year of Sales Engineer experience or equivalentAbility to think strategically about business outcomes and manage day-to-day details and deadlinesStrong team orientation and collaboration in a fast-paced environmentAbility to manage multiple projects and prioritize activitiesThorough knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)Strong business ethics and discretionSelf-motivated with a strong drive to succeedSolid knowledge of different communication protocols (e.g., APIs, SFTP, AS2) and delivery formats (e.g., IDOC, EDI, XML, UBL)Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; multiple language skills preferredModerate travel required for client meetings, events, and projectsEssential Job Functions:Interact effectively with teammates, colleagues and customersUnderstand and communicate complex conceptsAnalyze and resolve complex problemsUtilize technology to fulfill work requirementsWhat Sovos Offers YouTools to enhance your life, with an emphasis on balanceGlobal team environmentMentoring ProgramsGlobally recognised Training and Development programsBenefitsEqual OpportunitySovos is an equal opportunity employer committed to providing an environment that celebrates diversity and where equal employment opportunities are available to all applicants and employees.
