Development Scientist – Job at Eurofins Food & Water Testing UK & IE. This is a full‑time, permanent position working a flexible 37.5‑hour week, Monday to Friday. Visa sponsorship is not available for this role. Job Purpose Support the development of new product formulations, providing support to automated equipment and analytical equipment. Assist in further automated platforms and healthcare product development evaluation. Job Responsibilities Organise, schedule and plan routine requests from multiple client facilities, utilising automated platforms. Review design of experiments and progress automated runs. Support automated formulation platforms with proficiency. Manage logistics, COSHH, safety, and sample integrity for routine requests. Run and report routine requests on automated equipment, including statistics. Conduct in‑line/off‑line product quality assessment of haircare products. Perform physical assessments on hair fibre and sub‑fibre using DSC, DVS, DMA, TGA, Raman spectroscopy and SEM. Prepare and operate measurement tools. Maintain clear, concise communication with key client contacts and designees. Ensure pre‑calibration of equipment is conducted. Escalate issues promptly to maintain project schedule adherence. Report and document issues or non‑conformances to relevant client contact. Assist in preparing and reviewing area documentation (SOPs, reports, protocols). Ensure documentation is accurate, legible and compliant with quality standards. Attend regular client/Eurofins team meetings. Respond to customer queries with support from Group Leader. Keep laboratory areas clean and tidy. Maintain clear understanding of customer relationships and service goals. Qualifications Proven experience with traditional analytical techniques and modern instrumental equipment (HPLC, GC/MS, SFC). Experience with DSC, DVS, DMA, TGA, SEM, Raman spectroscopy is advantageous. Strong knowledge of performance evaluation of formulations within Personal Care, especially haircare. Relevant experience in formulation evaluation in a development laboratory, ideally in Personal Care or Home Care. Ability to work with automated platforms and strong troubleshooting skills. Detail‑oriented approach, minimizing errors and driving right‑first‑time. Strong statistical analysis capabilities. Ability to interpret raw data and draw conclusions. Excellent communication of results to colleagues and clients. Proficient with MS Office and electronic media. High regard for safety procedures. Good internal and external communication skills.
