Responsibilities and Duties We are looking for IT Field Engineers across various locations to support an ongoing nationwide project for a well-known high‑street chain. This is a mid to long‑term contract running from 3rd March to the end of November, with strong potential for further extensions if desired. Role Overview As an IT Field Engineer, you will be responsible for providing on‑site technical support across multiple retail locations in your designated region. You will be carrying out hands‑on IT hardware installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting, including: Site surveys to assess IT infrastructure Installation, configuration, and replacement of payment devices (PEDs) Counter refreshes and hardware upgrades for POS (Point‑of‑Sale) systems Basic network troubleshooting and connectivity checks General IT support for in‑store technology This is a Monday to Friday role, with standard working hours. What’s Included? Pay: £100 per day Company van (includes fully expensed fuel card) Company phone, tablet, and full toolset provided Full remote training (one week at a reduced rate of £75 per day) Buddy system for your first few shifts at full pay Opportunity to gain valuable hands‑on experience in IT hardware engineering Requirements Some experience in IT hardware engineering, field services, or technical support (no advanced knowledge required - full training provided) Excellent customer‑service attributes and exemplary communication skills Basic understanding of IT hardware, including desktops, peripherals, networking, and POS systems Full, manual UK driving licence (essential) Strong problem‑solving skills and a customer‑focused approach Availability to start ASAP Join an established team of engineers already deployed across the country, with more positions now open due to project expansion.
