OverviewOur client, a leading aerospace company, is currently seeking a Machine Borer to join their team on a permanent basis. This role involves operating and maintaining boring machines to produce precision aircraft components within specified limits. The ideal candidate will possess significant experience with machining processes, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.Key ResponsibilitiesOperate all types of boring machines to fine limits.Work on own initiative.Read and understand technical drawings.Take responsibility for work and others.Understand types of horizontal boring practices.Measure in imperial units.Work in accordance with company procedures and regulations.Maintain Practical Experience Record (PER) book.Train personnel within specified areas, subject to qualifications and experience.Job RequirementsMachining background essential.Experience with horizontal boring machines desirable.Understanding of IT and machine shop technology.Strong initiative and problem-solving skills.Ability to read and understand technical drawings.Good communication skills in written and spoken English.Capability to perform under pressure.Aerospace background preferable but not essential.Working ConditionsFlexible working hours including overtime at weekends.Exposure to greases and oils.Training and use of overhead cranes.Understanding of manual handling.Use of hand tools, power tools, ovens, and complex machinery.Maintain a clean and tidy working area to a 5S standard.Mandatory training required.Position and processes involve lifting heavy aircraft components.BenefitsOpportunity to work with a leading aerospace company.Collaborative and innovative work environment.Professional development and training opportunities.Employee benefits package. #J-18808-Ljbffr
