About The Role We're looking for an experienced Senior Project Worker to support in our service in Middlesbrough. Job title: Senior Project Worker (Supported Living) Hours: 40 hours per week to include days, evenings, nights, office hours, weekends. Location: Middlesbrough WE DO NOT OFFER SPONSORSHIP About the role The role of the Senior Project Worker is an opportunity for a pro-active person to join an evolving Care Company. We are looking for a dedicated and empathetic person. The support team will provide practical assistance and emotional support to empower the people we support to achieve their goals and aspirations. Whilst fully embracing the company ethos the Senior Project Worker will be leading the day to day management of a shift. Working in a pro-active, responsive, effective and person centred way to ensure that the lives of the people we support are enriched to the best they are able to. The Senior Project Worker will provide practical assistance and emotional support to empower the people we support to achieve their goals and aspirations, respecting everyone’s individuality and enabling them to make appropriate choices to live the life they want to live. The Senior Support Worker will be inducted and trained as necessary to meet the needs of the role. The people we support require support around their daily living skills, health needs and will have a diagnosis of learning disability and/or autism. We require a Support Team who is empathetic and non-judgmental, someone who has experience in behaviour that can be challenging. A valid UK driving licence is required for this role. The candidate we are looking for will: Responsibilities Support individuals with their own choices and help them to lead a meaningful life as per their wishes. Act as a Key worker and understand that 'working together works best' for a number of service users ensuring that the team always works in the best interests of the individual and encouraging positive behaviours across the team. Ensure the individuals needs are met to maintain health and well being, physically, mentally, and emotionally. Advocate on behalf of the individual and ensure no decision is made without them. Record and evidence outcomes in service user records, ensuring confidentiality. Contribute to the preparation, implementation, monitoring and regular review of individual care and support plans. Give the individual a voice that is heard and their aspirations are worked towards with them. Ensure individuals’ dignity is maintained at all times and they are given support with their personal and intimate care as required in their care plan. This may include bathing, toileting and assistance with dressing. Maintain medication management to include, ordering, storing and administering. Undertake service responsibilities in relation to completing audits related specific to supported living. Encourage the individuals you support to engage with activities they already enjoy, and to seek out new experiences, actively involve them in making decisions about everyday tasks that will enhance their independence and engage with the wider community. Empower individuals to actively achieve their goals by taking time and communicating in their preferred method, be aware of the individuals’ beliefs and cultural needs and work in an open and trustworthy manner. Contribute to at least 6 team meetings each year, actively engaging in supervision and appraisal to continuously improve and develop knowledge and skill that will enhance the lives of the people within the service. Actively participate in training opportunities, attending all core skills and mandatory training to reach the required level of competence and utilising new skills to continuously improve and develop. Be alert to and proactive in safeguarding the health, safety and welfare of the people supported, yourself and colleagues based in the service, and escalate concerns in a timely, professional and appropriate manner. Undertake lone working responsibilities as per the needs of the service. Having a driving licence is desirable. Qualifications These qualifications are essential for success in the role of a Full-Time Project Worker. The ideal candidate should possess a combination of core skills such as care experience, premium skills like nursing home experience and dementia care, as well as relevant skills including driving and medication administration. Ability to demonstrate equivalent of Level 2 in English. Willingness to work towards Care Certificate. A good standard of general education. 2 years of working within a team. Experience in a care environment Experience, either paid or voluntary supporting people with learning disabilities, autism or mental health needs.
