Outreach Tutor / Outreach Teacher (One-to-One Support)Location: Across Essex - Braintree, Colchester, Clacton, Chelmsford, Halstead, Harlow, and TiptreePay: 20 per hour (Unqualified) 25 per hour (Qualified Teachers/Tutors)Schedule: Monday to Friday AM, PM, or Full Day availability from 9:30am Term-Time OnlyCommitment: Minimum 15 hours per week (typically 3 hours per day)Make a Meaningful Impact - One Student at a TimeWe are seeking compassionate, dedicated Outreach Tutors and Teachers to deliver one-to-one and small group sessions across Essex. This highly rewarding role supports students who are currently unable to access mainstream education due to a variety of needs including anxiety, behavioural challenges, SEND, SEMH, or those at risk of exclusion.Working in pupils' homes, local libraries, or schools, you'll have the opportunity to help students build confidence, re-engage with learning, and achieve meaningful educational outcomes in core subjects such as English, Maths, PSHE, as well as through interventions and mentoring.Responsibilities:Delivering tailored, one-to-one sessions for students ranging from EYFS to Year 11 (up to GCSE/Functional Skills level).Building positive, trusting relationships with students and families.Adapting teaching strategies to meet individual learning needs and styles.Supporting not only academic growth but also emotional resilience and confidence.Keeping accurate session records and progress notes.Incorporating a variety of learning tools and resources to enhance engagement.Requirements:Qualified or experienced Tutors/Teachers with a strong grasp of Maths and Literacy.Proven experience working with young people, particularly those with SEND, SEMH, or non-traditional learning needs.Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Empathy, resilience, and a genuine commitment to student success.Flexibility and initiative in adapting to different environments and student needs.Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply-support provided).The right to work in the UK.Benefits:Flexible hours that work around your availability - part-time or full-time during school hours (typically between 9:30am and 3:30pm).Immediate starts available with ongoing referrals across Essex.Weekly pay with various contract options (self-employed, umbrella, or limited).Access to 88 free CPD courses, including Safeguarding, Behaviour Management, and Use of Reasonable Force.Consistent work - as one student transitions back into mainstream education, a new placement is offered where possible.Apply Today and Help Students ThriveIf you're passionate about helping learners succeed outside the traditional classroom, we would love to hear from you.
