Restaurant Manager – Hastings Hotels, Northern Ireland Location: Prehen Rd, Everglades Hotel About the role: The Restaurant Manager is responsible for managing and motivating staff, supporting the General Manager with budgets and financial performance, ensuring quality standards and procedures are maintained, handling stock management, training and development, guest service, and compliance with health and safety legislation. The role also includes duty management duties as required. Responsibilities Manage and motivate employees through effective communication, training, and development. Promote a harmonious working environment where all employees are treated with respect and dignity. Support the General Manager with annual budgets and cost management. Ensure Hastings quality standards and procedures are fully understood, implemented and reviewed. Implement and monitor company policies relating to stock management and ordering. Provide appropriate training, coaching and development to restaurant staff. Ensure staff are knowledgeable about hotel facilities and services and proactively sell them to guests. Assist guests with any reasonable request for hotel services. Respond to complaints and find appropriate solutions. Maintain effective communication and relationships with other departments, suppliers and properties. Maintain restaurant areas, fixtures and equipment to Hastings standards. Ensure the security of restaurant and storage areas is maintained at all times. Ensure a safe environment in compliance with health, safety, fire, hygiene and security legislation. Seek and develop knowledge of industry activity, providing input into future plans. Recruit, select and utilize employees to achieve optimal staffing. Ensure compliance with licensing laws, Customs and Excise Regulations and other legislation. Carry out the role of Duty Manager for the Hotel as required. Perform any other duties as required by Management. Skills Needed People Hospitality Required Criteria Right to work in the United Kingdom Professional appearance Excellent communication skills Ability to deliver exceptional customer service Proven ability to lead a team to achieve success Previous experience in hospitality Desired Criteria Educated to GCSE standard with grades A–C in English and Maths. Educated to degree level in a relevant field such as Tourism and Hospitality Management. Previous experience managing a high‑quality establishment. Benefits: 35‑hour week (excluding breaks), five shifts per week including weekends, 29 days holiday plus birthday day, free staff meals, employee discounts, cash and card tips, career progression opportunities. Salary: £28,000‑£30,000 per annum (depends on experience).
