We are seeking a nearly qualified or qualified actuary to join the Corporate Reserving team for Sompo International. The successful candidate will report to a senior member of the Corporate Reserving team and assist with a range of Corporate Reserving activities for Sompo International. The Corporate team will support the main quarterly reserving process together with a number of other projects, including group‑wide analytical exercises and Reserving platform development. Responsibilities Contribute to running the quarterly reserving process, including assisting with data quality checks and peer review of IBNR selections. Support the group Catastrophe Reserving process: initial draft selections, drafting meeting materials, supporting ACE team queries, and liaising with claims and ceded teams. Prepare best‑practice reserve materials and outputs for key stakeholders, such as CFO Reserve Meeting materials and the Group Reserve Committee. Lead MI production for monthly emergence reporting, engaging with ACE and Claims teams and distributing insights to management teams monthly. Understand the front‑end of the reserve platform to quickly implement selections and judgments. Suggest and help implement improvements to the platform. Liaise with wider Sompo‑wide initiatives to improve data quality. Contribute to developing automation capabilities within SRP, exploring the use of artificial intelligence and other newly emerging techniques to deliver cutting‑edge reserving solutions. Reporting Lines The role will report to a senior member of the Corporate Reserving team. It will be supported by a dedicated reserving team based in London and New York and, sometimes, will benefit from access to shared resources from across the Group reserving team. Skills, Qualifications and Experience A newly qualified actuary with at least 4 years of experience, preferably with strong exposure to reserving. Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills, including a proven ability to build relationships with senior management and underwriting teams. Well‑organised, with the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment and consistently meet deadlines without compromising quality. Strong IT skills, including proficiency with the usual MS Office products, and some programming experience would be beneficial. Location: London, England, United Kingdom. #J-18808-Ljbffr
