South West Water is looking for a Meter Reader to be part of our dedicated team based in Exeter. You will join us on a full-time, permanent basis, on a salary of £25,274 per annum plus a range of excellent company benefits and support. About the role As a Meter Reader for South West Water, you'll be out reading customer water meters across our service area to help ensure we deliver accurate customer billing. Your primary area will be the Exeter area and outwards towards Exmouth, so ideal for anyone living within EX1 to EX9. What you will be doing Accurately record and report water meter readings across our service area. Deliver great customer service for both Household and Non-Household customers. Optimise your time, routes, and mileage – local knowledge of the area helps Complete scheduled and unscheduled meter readings to meet your targets. Report faulty meters for repair, meters not set up on the system, and suspected meter fraud cases for investigation. Communicate well with all customers and colleagues. Make sure company van and equipment are all up to date and in good working order. Always prioritise Health and Safety and follow our Home Safe guidance & procedures. What we are looking for A full UK driving licence. Confident and experienced with interacting with customers face to face. Ability to deliver targets and goals. Comfortable with lone working – in all weather conditions. Basic computer skills for accurately reporting meter readings.
