Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Farm Accountant to manage financial records, budgeting, and financial analysis for our agricultural operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, familiarity with farm financial management, and the ability to contribute to the financial success and sustainability of the farm. Job responsibilities Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for thefarm, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, andgeneral ledger entries. Record and reconcile financial transactions related to farmactivities. Collaborate with farm management to develop and monitorbudgets for various farm activities, including cropproduction, equipment maintenance, and operational expenses. Prepare financial forecasts and identify potential financialrisks or opportunities. Generate regular financial reports, including incomestatements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Provide analysis and interpretation of financial data tosupport decision-making. Process payroll for farm employees, ensuring accurate andtimely payment. Manage payroll tax reporting and compliance. Prepare and file tax returns for the farm, including incometax, property tax, and any other applicable taxes. Stay informed about tax regulations and implement strategiesfor tax efficiency. Analyze costs associated with crop production, livestockmanagement, and other farm activities. Identify areas for cost savings and efficiency improvements. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or relatedfield. Proven experience as an accountant, preferably in anagricultural or farm setting. Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financialanalysis. Familiarity with farm-specific financial considerations andregulations. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
