Hybrid, with flexibility.We are looking for a CloudOps Engineer to join a team supporting a Public Sector client in the UK with experience in deploying, maintaining, and upgrading customer solutions on cloud environments using infrastructure-as-code languages. Specifically, we are searching for someone who brings fresh ideas, demonstrates a unique and informed viewpoint, and enjoys collaborating with a cross-functional team to develop real-world solutions while ensuring the platform’s high availability and reliability that our customers have come to expect.In this role, you will be expected to:Utilise infrastructure-as-code to automate the provisioning and management of cloud resources.Monitor and troubleshoot cloud services to identify and resolve operational issues in a timely manner as part of a 24/7 On-Call Rota.Build software and systems to manage platform infrastructure and applications.Improve reliability, quality, and time-to-market of our suite of software solutions.Measure and optimize system performance, with an eye toward pushing our capabilities forward, getting ahead of needs.Provide primary operational support and engineering for multiple large, distributed software applications.Gather and analyze metrics from both operating systems and applications to assist in performance tuning and fault finding.Partner with QA & Test to improve services through rigorous testing and release procedures.Create sustainable systems and services through automation and uplifts.Develop and maintain documentation for customer solutions and operational procedures.Our ideal candidateYou are an excellent operational engineer with experience in providing product updates, identifying production issues, and implementing integrations through CI/CD pipelines while maintaining and understanding the importance of change control. You have experience working in an agile team with a solid background in software engineering and familiarity with Python. You thrive in a fast-paced collaborative, distributed, multi-cultural and dynamic environment.Knowledge and ExperienceBachelor’s degree in computer science or other highly technical, scientific disciplineSolid experience in relevant field of operationsAbility to program with one or more high level languages, such as PythonExperience with infrastructure as code tools such as ansible or TerraformExperience with cloud architecture environments, preferably AWSProficiency with cloud deployment frameworks such as KubernetesExperience with Unix based systems and environmentsExperience & knowledge of working with secure systems handling PII/PHI data is desirableA team-based mentality that focuses on a group’s collective goals and objectivesStrong problem-solving skills with the ability to learn and investigate independently when requiredA proactive approach to identifying problems, areas for improvement, and performance bottlenecksSuccessful DBS check and Security Clearance will be requiredProficiency in English.Must be commutable to our London Paddington office.Please note, this role is not eligible for UK visa sponsorship.IQVIA is a leading global provider of clinical research services, commercial insights and healthcare intelligence to the life sciences and healthcare industries.
